The architect's brief was to design a genuinely unique, futuristic property flexible enough to accommodate the changing needs of 21st century living.

Natural light pervades the property yet the windows sit discreetly with the external elevations. There is a feeling of space throughout the house with the living areas on each floor are linked by an open staircase. The open-plan layout gives scope for individuals to personalise the space exactly to their own requirements.

As is Palady's practice, there is plenty of scope for the buyers to be involved in designing their house to their own needs. They can tailor everything from layouts to materials and colour schemes if they contact Palady Home soon enough in the development process.

The location

The historic village of Donnington, less than two miles from Newbury town centre, is in one of the area's best settings. The River Lambourn flows through the village, which contains Donnington Castle and is a stone's throw from beautiful Snelsmore Common, a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Within a few minutes' drive are two first-class golf courses, a selection of country pubs and the renowned Watermill Theatre.

Donnington has excellent links with the M4/A34 motorway junction and Newbury railway station, with its fast connections (50 minutes) to London Paddington, just a couple of miles away.
